Close partnerships with farmers and producers have always been one of the pillars of our roastery. We share many wonderful memories with them from mutual visits and experiences. We strive to understand the dynamics of their production to maximize our positive impact through the most direct purchasing possible.

One example is the coffee we source for our New Standard line. We purchase a broad range of coffees from farmers at various quality levels and in larger volumes. We don’t focus solely on the finest microlots. Instead, we support farmers by directly purchasing their bulk coffees, which maintain high quality but have historically ended up in regional blends at low prices.

In everything we do at Nordbeans, we never lose sight of a sustainable future. We care about how our coffee is grown and the long-term development of coffee-growing regions.

In Guatemala, we helped establish a coffee school, and in El Salvador, a training farm for future generations of farmers.

In our cafés, we create space for local, small-scale farmers who cultivate with respect for the landscape.

We have long supported Paměť národa and landscape restoration in the Jizera Mountains. In 2021, we also helped Adam Pešek on his journey to a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
